Ricardo Hernandez

Ricardo Hernandez I humbly ask for your support, by voting for me in these coming elections. If you do, I will proudly represent KPFK Local Station Board, and exercise my knowledge and experience in improving its programming and services.

I have been a listener-sponsor member since 2011, when I joined as an active Reporter/Correspondent and Producer of the Spanish-Language programming at KPFK.

As a member of KPFK Local Station Board, I see in years to come that KPFK will move and is moving-- into a positive direction towards a more inclusive and diverse programming. A programming that includes vital shows for: women, millenniums, immigrants, Dreamers (undocumented students), bilinguals, African-Americans, LGTBQ, children, college students, and ethnicities.

I believe that KPFK should expand its content to address crucial topics: food justice, health-fitness, immigration, diversity, Global Warming, LGTBQ, Latin Americas' affairs, and more.

Ricardo holds a B.A. in Sociology with a Minor in Spanish-Language Journalism from California State University Northridge. He is also a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ).

Currently, he produces and hosts the weekly Spanish-Language radio show Nuestra Voz, every Thursday at 9:30 PM at KPFK, where he addresses todays affairs, cultural, and health topics impacting the communities of Los Angeles.
